Recently my 19 year old Holstein x TB horse has experienced extreme weight loss through a bacterial infection and stress. I had heard that feeding Aloe vera to horses can really help with their absorption of food, which was critical to him gaining weight.

I started him on 250mls a day (as recommended by David Urch, a vet who has studied Aloe vera and animals extensively) then reduced to 150mls a day after a week as he is a large horse.

I truely believe that the Aloe vera drink has really helped his body take on board the extra feed I have been giving him. It seems to have increased his appetite, and also importantly, has boosted his immune system at a time when he could have been sucepible to other infections.

I have also given this horse the same aloe vera drink but with added Glucosamine, chrondrotin and MSM which really helped him stay sound when nothing else could. Being an older horse, his joints really appreciated the extra help, and the Aloe vera really takes the added ingredients for the joints straight to where they are needed.
